Spend a day with a brewer and learn how to brew your own beer! We’ll be brewing two beers, a historical ale and a modern day recipe. We will discuss the history of brewing, especially in context of colonial life, prohibition and home brewing. This will be a very hands on class with plenty of time to ask all your questions about beer, home brewing, and the brewing industry. We will also be tasting some beers and discussing the changes in beer throughout the years. Must be 21+ to enjoy this class.
Sarah Todd is the head brewer at Olde Hickory Brewery and has dabbled in about every kind of fermentation. She has a bachelors in fermentation, viticulture & enology from Cornell University and has taken classes in distillation, brewing, and farming. While not brewing, she can be found working on her three acre homestead, taking on new hobbies, and exploring with the family.
