This cabin has settled in a manner that has made it structurally unsound. It needs to have its foundation stones adjusted, and the entire structure needs to be releveled to avoid collapse. The front sill plate needs a full replacement and will be hand-hewn and coated in pine tar and linseed oil. The back sill log also needs to be fully replaced to keep this cabin standing and avoid collapse into the lake below. Following sill log replacement, the entire cabin will need redaubbing. The current daubing will be replaced with a new chinking and daubing mixture more consistent with recommended preservation methods to ensure the longevity of the wood.

  • Stabilize all foundations on the house
  • Replace front & rear sill completely with oak from the site
  • Replace chinking and daubing
