This is your opportunity to continue the journey of learning a beautiful and relaxing craft and keep this ancient art alive. This class is designed for anyone who has already taken the beginner class and has a desire to continue learning the art of lacemaking. You will receive 2 more pairs of bobbins and a more advanced pattern.
If you have purchased lacemaking supplies, please bring them to class. Bring with you all the supplies you received at the beginner class: your pillow, bobbins (please have them pre-wound with thread, in pairs), and your pins.
If you have forgotten how to wind the thread onto your bobbins, please email me at eswaumama@yahoo.com, and I will send you directions. Practice your cross, twist, and cross so that you are comfortable handling your bobbins. I look forward to helping you continue learning the beautiful skill of lacemaking.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
About Your Instructor
Sheila Antell
I am a textile enthusiast with a love of teaching. My passion is bobbin lace and living history events, and I've been combining the two since 2005. I actively participate in living history events at Hart Square and The McDowell House/Historic Burke and give Historic presentations for local schools. The study of lace, its history, and the various styles of lace has been a long-time endeavor. I am currently studying Ipswich lace, which is an American lace popular during the Revolutionary War.
